Learn what to do if you run out of storage.
If you make a backup with original quality and run out of storage, your photos will no longer be backed up. Learn more about what happens when you run out of storage space.
Important Notes:
If your upload size is set to High Quality, you will get unlimited free storage. But if it is set to Original, the photos that were backed up will be counted in Google Photos storage.
You get 15 GB of free storage for photos and videos that are stored exactly as you captured them.
Buy more storage
- On your computer, open photos.google.com.
- Sign in to your Google account.
- In the upper left, click Menu Menu and then Settings.
- Under the load size options, click Buy storage.
- Select a storage plan.
- Add or select your payment method.
- Click on Subscribe.
FootNotes: If you do not see the previous option, you may not be running out of storage or have no original quality photo.
