Someone else is accessing your Hotmail account without your prior consent? It means your account has been compromised and someone else is using your account to send spam or access your personal info. Don’t get alarm we will discuss every possible measure to resolve this issue as well as I hope this article works out as one-stop solution for you.

So basically we will discuss here a few measures to sort out compromised or hacked account issue.

1. Change your password

·        Login to your account. If you are able to access your account then change your password. This is an easiest option to recoup control again.

·        Press the gear icon in the upright corner of the webpage, besides your account name.

·        Select “More Mail Settings” from the menu, fourth option right below the color swatches. It will redirect you to the options page.

·        In “Manage Your Account” header tap on account details to access the language menu.

·        Tap on the “Change Password” tab and this will open the password form.

·        Now enter your old and new passwords. Reconfirm your new password and make sure your password should be of at least 8 characters and case sensitive.

·        Save the password changes.

·        Login to your account to verify your changes and credentials.

2. Regain access to your account

·        Visit the Microsoft account login page. Sometimes Microsoft temporarily locks an account if it smells something phishy. So this may work in your case.

·        Tap on forgot my password and you will be redirected to password recovery page.

·        Then you will get several options. Among them click on “I think someone else is using my Microsoft account” option and tap on “Next”.

·    Enter the email address you suspect to be hacked in the text field as well enter the captcha characters appearing on your screen. Click the Next tab.

·       Select a mode to receive security code. If you have any recovery email or phone number, select it and you will get a security code on address/number.

·     Enter an email address on the “Recover your Microsoft Account” page and click the Next tab.

·        You must have access to this email account. If you aren’t having another email, you can create a new outlook account. Tap on “Create new account”.

·        Complete the form with all accurate credentials and click on Submit.

·        Click on the password reset link and you will be redirected to create new password page for your account.

·        Enter your password twice in order to ensure that there are no typos. Set a strong password and save all the changes.

Hope these solutions work out for you. For more details, you may contact Microsoft official page and their customer service community forums.
