Change or reset your Yahoo password

Your Yahoo password gives you access to all the Yahoo services you use. It is always a good idea to update your password regularly and make sure it is unique from other passwords you use. If you have forgotten your password, you can reset it for a new start.

change your password

From a desktop or mobile web browser:

1. Go to the security page of the Yahoo account.
2. Click Change password.
3. Enter a new password.
4. Click on Continue.

From most Yahoo android or ios application:

1. Click on the Menu button from the side menu icon.
2. If you use the Yahoo mail application, tap Manage accounts.
3. Touch account information.
4. Press Security Settings.
5. Enter your security code.
6. Press Change password.
7. Touch I'd rather change my password.
8. Enter the new password and your confirmation and tap Continue.

If these steps do not work in your application, change your password with your mobile browser.

Reset a forgotten password

1. Go to the login wizard.
2. Enter one of the account recovery items listed.
3. Click on Continue.
4. Follow the instructions given in the login wizard.
