Share your Google Photos library with a partner
You can share photos of specific people or select a date to share all the photos. Photos will be shared automatically as backups are made to your account.
Important Note: Face group filtering is not available in all countries.
Share your photos with a partner
You can share your library with one person.
- On your computer device, go to photos.google.com.
- Sign in with your Google account.
- On the left, click on Share people and then on More more and then on Set up shared libraries and then on Start.
- Click Menu Menu and then Add partner account and then Start.
- Enter or select an email address. You can only invite someone with a Google account.
- Select which photos to add to your partner account.
- All photos: You can share all the photos.
- Photos of specific people: you can select one or more groups of faces to share. Photos that match any of the selected face groups will be shared. Learn more about filtering by face groups.
- Only show photos from this day: all photos whose dates are after the selected date will be shared. Get more information about filtering by date.
7. Click Next.
8. If everything looks good, click Send invitation.
9. Verify your identity and finish the configuration.
10. Optional: To see your partner's photos, ask them to share their library with you after they have accepted your invitation.
To share your library with another person, or receive an invitation to view your library, stop sharing with your current partner.
Filter by face groups
Face grouping technology is not perfect. Filtering by groups of faces can cause, on occasion, to share photos that really do not have any of the people you have selected.
Filter by date
Sometimes, the date of the photo may be incorrect. For example, if the photo was scanned or if the camera clock was not set correctly, a photo could have incorrect date. Filtering by date can result in sharing photos that are not within the chosen date range.
Accept a shared library
- On your computer, go to photos.google.com.
- Sign in with the Google account that was invited.
- On the left, click Share people.
- Under "Shared," click on the invitation you wish to accept. Then click on OK.
- Optional: You can share your photo library with your partner. In the upper right, click More More and then Share.
Tip: If someone you don't know shares your library with you, you can block it. Learn how to block a person
Look at the photos of your partner.
- On your device, go to photos.google.com.
- On the left, click Share people.
